-3rd Sunday after Pentecost-

“Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” -Philippians 3:12-14

We all live with different backgrounds, in different places in life. Our thoughts may be different, our values may be different, and even the paths we walk may be different. Yet in Jesus Christ, the direction we look toward is the same. We are a community of faith running together toward salvation, toward holiness, and toward the goal to which God has called us.

On this journey, we believe that through care and consideration for one another, through patience and service, we can cross the “bridge of differences” together. Please join us in prayer that, through this summer retreat, our youth and young adults may deeply experience God’s grace and be renewed in the joy of salvation. We pray that the next generation of our children may cross the “bridge of differences” with hope.

As we gather for Sunday worship this week, may we fix our eyes together on the grace of the Lord who calls us, and may it be a blessed time of moving forward together toward the same goal.

‼️ Announcement

1. The Youth Retreat will be held from Sunday afternoon through Wednesday morning. Please keep this retreat in your prayers.

Final Checklist:

• Pack your belongings: towels, sleeping bag, clothes, toiletries, etc.
  (Please note that the weather will be cool.)
• Complete the Unity registration form and submit it to Pastor Joseph.
• Complete the online registration required by the retreat center.
• Submit the retreat registration fee to Pastor Joseph by check payable to “KUMC” or through Zelle.

2. We need youth leaders for the Schurz Mission VBS. Please help us spread the word so we can get as many participants as possible. Sign up using the Google Form below:

3. We are looking for youth volunteers for the Children's Ministry VBS. Any youth who are interested, please sign up!

4. PTA Meeting — Sunday, June 21 at 1:30 PM

• We will take time to thank the PTA officers who served faithfully over the past year and introduce the new PTA officers.
• We will also introduce the newly appointed Youth Ministry Pastor/Director.
• Since it is Father’s Day, we will do our best to keep the meeting as brief as possible.

-성령강림후 셋째 주일-

“나는 이것을 이미 얻은 것도 아니며, 이미 목표점에 다다른 것도 아닙니다. 그리스도 [예수]께서 나를 사로잡으셨으므로, 나는 그것을 붙들려고 달려가고 있습니다. 형제자매 여러분, 나는 아직 그것을 붙들었다고 생각하지 않습니다. 내가 하는 일은 오직 한 가지입니다. 뒤에 있는 것은 잊어버리고, 앞에 있는 것을 향하여 몸을 내밀면서, 그리스도 예수 안에서, 하나님께서 위로부터 부르신 그 부르심의 상을 받으려고, 목표점을 바라보고 달려가고 있습니다.” - 빌립보서 3:12-14

우리는 모두 서로 다른 모습과 삶의 자리에서 살아갑니다. 생각도 다르고, 가치관도 다르고, 걸어가는 길도 다를 수 있습니다. 그러나 예수 그리스도 안에서 우리가 바라보는 방향은 같습니다. 구원을 향하여, 거룩을 향하여, 하나님께서 부르신 그 푯대를 향하여 함께 달려가는 믿음의 공동체입니다.

그 길 위에서 서로를 향한 관심과 배려, 인내와 섬김이 있다면 우리는 서로의 “차이의 다리”를 건널 수 있다고 믿습니다. 이번 여름 수련회를 통해 우리 유스들과 청년들이 하나님의 은혜를 깊이 경험하고, 구원의 기쁨 안에서 새롭게 세워질 수 있도록 함께 기도해 주시기 바랍니다. 그래서 우리 자녀세대가 "차이의 다리"를 소망으로 건널수 있기를 기도합니다.

이번 주일예배 가운데도 우리를 부르시는 주님의 은혜를 함께 바라보며, 같은 푯대를 향해 나아가는 복된 시간이 되기를 소망합니다.
