-First Sunday after Christmas-

Advent: Light Is Coming - Isaiah 9:1-7

This week marks the Sunday after Advent and the last Sunday of 2025. Through the past season of Advent and Christmas, we have reflected on how God’s light shines most brightly in the darkest and lowest places. In a world filled with fear, division, and uncertainty, we return once more to Isaiah to consider how God’s light comes to us.

At the close of the year, in the midst of deep darkness, and the cold of winter, we remember that God’s gaze is fixed upon the marginalized. God came into this world to give them true hope, to bear the heavy yolk on their behalf, and to become rest for weary hearts that know no peace. As we reflect on this love and grace we have received, we hope to end the year by deep reflection on how we are able to overcome the world through God’s strength.

We invite you to come before God’s grace just as you are, laying down your burdens. Come with your unresolved questions and doubts, and bring them to God in prayer. We trust that the God who looks at the heart will hear our cries and lead us on a righteous path. We pray that we may send off the memories of 2025 not with sighs, but with gratitude.

‼️ Announcement

1. Ski retreat is happening from this Sunday to Tuesday. Please keep prayers for good health and safety.

***Please prepare $15 gift for gift exchange for those of us who are attending the ski retreat.

2. Starting January 5, we will start 40-day Prayer Challenge. As part of your Christmas gift, each received a Prayer Book. Please keep it on your desk and use it daily for prayer.

3. Please develop a habit of bringing your Bible to Sunday Worship Service.

4. Saturday morning, January 10, the early morning prayer service will hold our teachers in prayer for their dedication. Please keep prayers for our teachers for special recognition.

-성탄후 첫째 주일-

대림절: 빛이 오신다 - 이사야 9:1-7

이번주는 대림절이 끝난 주일, 그리고 2025년의 마지막 주일입니다. 지난 대림절과 성탄절을 통해 하나님의 빛은 가장 어두운 곳, 가장 낮은 곳에서 가장 밝게 빛난다는 것을 나누었습니다. 두려움과 분열, 그리고 불확실함으로 가득찬 세상 속에서 하나님의 빛이 어떻게 임하는지 오늘 말씀 이사야서 9장을 통해 한번 더 살펴 보려고 합니다.

한해의 끝자락에서, 깊고 어두운 밤, 추운밤이 지속되는 시간 가운데 하나님의 눈동자는 소외된 사람들을 향하고 있고, 그들에게 참 소망을 주시기 위해, 무거운 멍에를 대신 져 주시기 위해, 평화 없는 마음에 안식이 되어주시기 위해 이땅에 오셨음을 다시 생각해 봅니다. 그리고 그런 하나님의 사랑의 은혜를 입은 우리가 어떻게 세상을 이겨 내는지 깊이 묵상해 보며 한해를 마무리 할수 있기를 소망합니다.

있는 그대로의 모습으로 하나님의 은혜 앞에 나아와 우리의 무거움을 내려 놓았으면 좋겠습니다. 해결되지 않는 질문들과 의심들을 가지고 나와 기도하면 좋겠습니다. 마음의 중심을 보시는 하나님께서 우리의 간구를 들어주시고 좋은 길로 인도하실 것을 믿습니다. 2025년의 기억들을 한숨이 아닌 감사로 잘 보낼수 있기를 기도합니다.
