“Life: God’s Providence of Sacrifice and Hope” - Exodus 3:1-15

Have you ever looked back at the hardest season of your life and wondered…was any of it for something greater?

Moses asked the same question. He spent eighty years feeling like a failure, a stranger, a man who belonged nowhere. Rejected, displaced, and forgotten in the wilderness. And yet, when God finally spoke to him at a burning bush in the wilderness, everything Moses thought had been wasted turned out to have been preparation. 

The years inside the palace, the years in the wilderness. The running, the silence, not any of them thrown away.

This Sunday, we will meditate on what it means that God wastes nothing in our lives, and how a life given in worship and obedience to God can change the course of history.

-성령강림후 다섯째 주일-

“인생: 희생과 희망이 교차하는 하나님의 섭리” - 출애굽기 3:1-15

인생에서 가장 힘들었던 시간을 돌아보며 이런 질문을 해본 적이 있을것 같습니다. “이 모든 것이 혹시 더 큰 뜻을 위한 것이었을까?”라고 말입니다.

모세도 같은 질문을 했을지 모릅니다. 그는 80년 동안 실패자처럼, 낯선 사람처럼, 어디에도 속하지 못한 사람처럼 살아왔습니다. 거절당하고, 쫓겨나고, 광야에서 잊힌 사람처럼 말입니다. 그러나 하나님께서 마침내 광야의 불붙은 떨기나무 가운데서 그에게 말씀하셨을 때, 모세가 낭비되었다고 생각했던 모든 시간이 사실은 준비의 시간이었음을 알게 되었습니다.

궁전에서 보낸 세월도, 광야에서 보낸 세월도, 도망쳤던 시간도, 침묵의 시간도, 그 어느 하나도 버려진 것이 아니었습니다.

이번 주일, 우리는 하나님께서 우리의 삶 가운데 아무것도 헛되게 하지 않으신다는 것이 무엇을 의미하는지, 그리고 하나님께 예배와 순종으로 드려진 한 사람의 삶이 어떻게 역사의 흐름을 바꿀 수 있는지를 함께 묵상하려 합니다. 모세의 여정을 통해 인생의 의미를 더 깊이 바라볼수 있는 우리 자녀세대 될수 있기를 기도합니다.
